He phoned me.
He had given me his number (the same one that he gave ALL of ARS) and
later disconnected it, or he said he did. I never called it. I haven't
gotten myself set up with cheap internet international calling so I
rarely call my friends from other parts of the globe.

I heard about Tonei's death about 2 or so weeks after it happened. I
therefore had no reason to phone anyone.
